Younger Years
College Days
Job Hunting
A cancerian born on the 4th Day of July 1977 at Malaya, Pililla,
Rizal and the eldest son of proud parents, Mr. & Mrs. Regalado Vejar.
Finished my secondary schooling at San Ildefonso College,Tanay,
Rizal, were all the foundations of being a good citizen was formed.
During my highschool days, I enjoyed the field of sports particularly
volleyball and "sepak takraw."
In these four years, I have dreamt of being an Engineer someday. From
first to fourth year, I was always chosen to represent my school on
computer contests. During those days, my classmates are calling me
"computer w*e*i*r*d*o*", not in Windows but in MS-DOS. Who cares
about Windows that year 1994.
I have taken entrance examinations at Adamson University and Mapua
Institute of Technology.Luckily I passed my examination at the two,
and I decided to enroll at MIT. I was accepted to take up Mechanical
Engineering rather than Computer Engineering. It was on my third year
when I decided to shift course - not in COE anymore but Electronics
and Communications Engineering. Maybe you'll wonder...why ECE?.
simply because ECE has board examination and I don't wanna be called
an "IE" or instant engineer.
Oh well!!! Everything went fine during my college days. I enjoyed it
even if there were lots of paper works. Engineering letterings makes
me nuts. Thanks GOD :-) professors now are accepting computer reports.
After five years of battling with traffic jam, I have finally
graduated from College. But that didn't end yet. After graduation,
my friends and I took the review classes. Those days were the hardest
time of my life. Every time I read books I feel very sleepy. And in
Gods will I passed the ECE Licensure examination. April 2000....
I became a full-pledged E-n-g-i-n-e-e-r.
Then, the time came for job hunting (employment searching). It was
not very easy as we think it is ........there are too many college
graduates in the Philippines but with only few jobs available.
That's one of the reason why most graduates didn't land on jobs
related to their courses. I began seeking employment to different
industrial zones in our country...EPZA, Laguna Techno Park...... I've
been through it all. I was also interviewed by PLDT and by AMA
Computer College to be one of their instructors.
Finally, after going to all of these interviews...I found myself here
in Dubai-UAE as a Research & Development Engineer at Eurostar
Communications L.L.C. Salary was not that good but what can you expect
for your first job? Working here is quite easy and good as you can
surely enjoy life.
It is also here in UAE that I met my wife....Jocelyn Dela Torre-Vejar,
who is working as an Executive Secretary in one of the hotels in
Sharjah. We got married last June 08, 2002 at St. Gabriel Parish
(Malaya, Pililla, Rizal) in the Philipines when spent our first
vacation from UAE. Now we're both happily staying in Sharjah.
Till here....more updates to come!!!
